The Hard Bargain Players are proud to present Audrey Cefaly's critically acclaimed play, "The Gulf," opening Friday, August 1st, at the Black Box Theatre, Indian Head Center for the Arts. This compelling drama explores the complexities of a long-term relationship navigating personal and societal divides against the backdrop of the Alabama Delta.
gulf (noun): a body of water; an abyss; a separation; a void; a distance
"The Gulf" tells the story of Kendra and Betty, two women who find themselves at a crossroads during a seemingly ordinary fishing trip. As Betty attempts to diagnose Kendra's life using career advice from "What Color is You Parachute," their routine excursion takes an unexpected and violent turn, revealing the deep chasm that separates them. This full-length version is based on the award-winning short play from the 40th Annual Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival.
